19-year old Christopher Robinson of 3-429 Wellington Street East turned himself into City Police just before 1 am this morning. Mr. Robinson had a court appearance on August 22nd in relation to criminal charges from July 9th, however it is alleged that he failed to appear in court on August 22nd and a bench warrant was issued. The accused will appear in bail court this morning.

Male Charged with Mischief

Yesterday afternoon just before 2 pm City Police were called to the Holiday Inn in regards to a male hanging out a second floor window waving a knife around and yelling. Officers arrested 26-year old Jeff Trottier of 31 Country Lane, Pettawawa, Ontario without incident in the hotel room. Officers located approximately 47 grams of marijuana in his room as well as 4 ecstasy pills. The street value of the narcotics is approximately $800. Mr. Trottier has been charged with one count of mischief for cutting the screened window and two counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance. He will appear in court on October 3rd.

Theft Charges Laid

24-year old Raymond Reid of 549 Shannon Road will appear in court on September 26th. It is alleged that early yesterday evening the accused stole a carton of cigarettes from Pino’s IGA on Trunk Road. The accused was apprehended by store security and turned over to City Police. The accused has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and will appear in court on September 26th.


Break and Enter

Last evening City Police took one report of a break and enter. It is alleged that a residence in the 100 block of Gore Street was entered sometime in the last 5 days. Thieves made off with just about all of the contents of the apartment. Items taken include larger pieces of furniture, electronic equipment, a phone and food. Several items were also thrown around.
