Early this morning City Police arrested a 44-year-old male as a result of a domestic assault. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his wife by pushing her into a wall inside their residence and then pushing her to the ground twice while outside the home. The accused will be appearing in Bail Court today at
10:00 AM. The accused had been drinking at the time of this incident. Victim did not require medical attention.
On Thursday night City Police arrested a 22-year-old male for assault. It is alleged that the accused assaulted a female by throwing her onto a bed and then kicking her in the stomach. Victim did not require medical attention for her injuries. The accused person will be attending Bail Court today at
10:00 AM.


Male Charged For Being Unlawfully In A Dwelling

At approx. 6:30 PM yesterday evening City Police attended at a downtown residence and arrested a 31-year-old male for being Unlawfully in a Dwelling. It alleged that the male was inside the residence of the complainant without lawful excuse. Upon investigating the accused it was further learned that the accused was breaching several release documents that prohibited him from being near that address. He will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.

Last night’s R.I.D.E. Program resulted in two 12 hour suspensions. The number of vehicles stopped and tests administered is unknown at this time.

Motor Vechilce Collisions

Yesterday’s fresh snowfall resulted in 24 motor vehicle collisions. Two accidents resulted in minor injuries. In one accident the driver of a vehicle traveling west on Second Line W. lost control of his vehicle when if hit some slush on the road. His vehicle then struck a utility pole. In the second incident a passenger in a vehicle traveling south on Huron St. was injured when the vehicle she was in slid, on the icy road, and struck a stopped vehicle. No charges were issued in either incident.

Help City Police Fight Vehicle Break Ins

City police received two calls for thefts of items from cars yesterday. One theft was in the 300 block of Nixon St. and the other was in the 300 block of Wellington St.W. City police also received one call regarding an attempted theft of vehicle. Unknown person(s) attempted to steal a car on Dennis St. Anyone with information on this crime are asked to call the City Police.
