Male Charged with Shoplifting 51-year old Denis Theriault of 11-874 Queen Street East was arrested yesterday afternoon for shoplifting. It is alleged that the accused entered the Sears Store in the Station Mall and left with an unpaid sweater.

51-year old Denis Theriault of 11-874 Queen Street East was arrested yesterday afternoon for shoplifting. It is alleged that the accused entered the Sears Store in the Station Mall and left with an unpaid sweater. He was apprehended by store security and turned over the City Police. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be good. Mr. Theriault has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and 2 counts of breach of probation. He will appear in court on February 7th.

Youth Charged with Theft

A 15-year old youth was also arrested last night. It is alleged that the youth stole a DVD player and 2 speakers from a west end residence last evening. The youth has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and will appear in court on February 8th.


Vechicle Break-ins

Yesterday morning City Police received a number of reports of mischief to vehicles in the downtown area. A vehicle in a parking lot in the 100 block of Bay Street had a tail light broken. 3 vehicles parked in the parking lot of 49 St. Mary’s River Drive had their windows smashed. Nothing was taken from the cars. A window in the Zellers Store was also broken but entry was not gained.
