City police responded to an armed robbery last evening at the Pisa Pizza located on Second Line West. At approximately 12:23 am, a lone male wearing a balaclava entered the business with a shotgun and demanded cash form the register. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash form the till. Officers searched the area with negative results. The male was described as being approximately 27-37 years of age, around 6’- 6’2”, 200 pounds, wearing dark clothing and a balaclava. The investigation is continuing.

The Investigation Services Division is continuing the investigation into the armed robbery at Pisa Pizza located at 651 Second Line West which occurred on the 1st of June at approximately 12:30 am. At this time, Detectives believe that the suspect may have fled the scene on a yellow and white dirt bike.

Domestic Related Arrest for Bail Court Appearance this Morning

A 51 year-old female was arrested on the 3rd of June at 5:04 pm at downtown residence and charged with two counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that around 4:30 yesterday afternoon police were called to a residence regarding a domestic dispute. When officers arrived they located the accused at the residence of her ex-boyfriend and at the time she was on probation conditions not to attend his residence or to have any communication with him.

Male Driver Charged with Consuming over the Legal Limit

22 year-old Michael Mackay of 194 Old Highway 17 N, Goulais River, Ontario, was arrested at 2:24 am this morning on Great Northern Road and charged with one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that city police stopped and checked a Ford Pickup at 2:24 am this morning in the Great Northern Road and Fourth Line area and at the time they found the driver, the accused, to be under the influence of alcohol. The accused was given a roadside screening device breathalyzer test and failed. He is to appear in court on the 12th of July.

Two Persons Arrested on Outstanding Warrants

1) 45 year-old Kathy Harrison of #6-314 Albert Street East was located by the Sault Ste Marie Police Service Street Team last evening at 9:30 pm on Albert Street East and arrested on outstanding warrant for allegedly failing to appear in court on April 26th for a shoplifting related charged. She was charged with one count of fail to appear court and is now to re-attend in court on the 28th of June.
2) 56 year-old James Evans of 222 Albert Street East, wanted on an outstanding theft warrant form 2002, was located and arrested on Pim Street yesterday morning. He was charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. He is to appear in court on the 12th of July.

Female Arrested for Mischief

43 year-old Linda Porter of 1223 Trunk Road was arrested on the 3rd of June at 9:03 am on Queen Street East and charge with one count of mischief. It is alleged that around 8:30 am yesterday morning, the accused urinated in the ATM lobby area of a downtown bank. The ATM had to be temporarily closed as a result. The accused is to appear in court on the 12th of July.

Break and Enter Report

A residence in the 300 block of Pim Street was entered yesterday. A HP Laptop and an iPod were reported stolen.

Bear Sightings

There were eleven more reports of bear sightings yesterday. Most of the calls were in the areas of the Black Road Hub Trail, the P-Patch and Grandview and Bainbridge Street area.
