Update On Gore St. Gun Fire Investigation

Officers from Investigation Services continued working on this mater and executed a search warrant at the residence of 125 Gore Street on the 21st. Officers located a small quantity of cocaine and marijuana as well as an undisclosed amount of counterfeit currency. Last night just after 11:30 pm City Police stopped a vehicle on Northern Avenue in the area of the Pee Wee Arena after officers observed that the vehicle had only one headlight. When officers checked the driver they recognized the male and were aware that there were outstanding warrants for the driver in relation to the incident from March 21st. 29-year old Jason Michaud of 125 Gore Street was wanted for two counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance and one count of possession of counterfeit money. A query of the accused also revealed that he was a prohibited driver under the criminal code and was subsequently charged with one count of operate motor vehicle while disqualified-court order. When officers searched Mr. Michaud they found 3 grams of marijuana. He was additionally charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. He will appear in bail court this morning.

Update On JBC Variety Store Robbery

Yesterday officers from Patrol Services and Investigation Services arrested a 15-year-old youth, a 16-year old youth and a 17-year old youth in connection with the JBC Variety Store robbery. The 15-year old youth has been charged with one count of robbery, one count of disguise with intent and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that the accused had a small quantity of marijuana on their possession when searched by arresting officers.

The 16-year old youth has been charged with one count of robbery, one count of disguise with intent, one count of breach of a release order and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that this youth was on a release order not to be in possession of non-prescribed drugs and when officers searched the accused they located a small quantity of marijuana.

The 17-year old youth has been charged with one count of robbery, one count of disguise with intent and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that the accused had a small quantity of marijuana on themselves, which was located when officers searched the accused.

All three youths will appear in bail court this morning.

13-Yr Arrested For Assault

A 13-year old youth was arrested last evening just before 6 pm and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that the youth assaulted their mother by pushing her and grabbing her by the throat. The accused has been charged with one count of assault and will appear in court on April 25th.

Break & Enter At Castle Real Estate Offices

This morning just before 5 am City Police attended at a break and enter at the Castle Real Estate Offices located at 378 Queen Street East. The incident occurred between 9 pm last night and 4:30 this morning. At this time it is unknown if anything is missing.

With the warm weather City Police often see reports of thefts of bikes. In many incidents the thefts were preventable simply by securing the bike.
