Youth to appear in bail court today on charges of resist arrest and possession of a substance

Yesterday afternoon at approx. 12:30 pm city police attempted to arrest a 16-year-old male, at the courthouse on a warrant for mischief. It is alleged that while arresting the accused the officer was assaulted by him. The accused was eventually subdued and a search of the accused revealed that he was in possession of a substance believed to be cocaine. The accused is charged with one count of resisting arrest, one count of possession of a substance. He will be appearing in bail court today.

Male arrested for sex offences

Yesterday evening city police arrested a 46-year-old male and charged him with one count of sexual assault, one count of sexual interference, one count of invitation to sexual touching and one count of sexual exploitation. It is alleged that the accused committed these offences between January 2003 and April 2010 upon a young person, between 8 years and 14 years of age. The accused will be appearing in court on June 21st. at 9:00 am.

Male arrested for impaired driving

Last night at approx 10:50 pm city police arrested a 35-year-old Massimo Bruni, of 527 Wilson St. for impaired driving. It is alleged that Mr. Bruni was operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol on Great Northern Rd. The accused had been seen driving in a reckless manner by a concerned motorist. The accused is charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of drive over 80 mgs. He will be appearing in court on June 21st at 9:00 am.

Male arrested for driving while disqualified

Last night at approx. 9:30 pm city police stopped a vehicle on Northland Rd for traffic violations. As a result of police investigation Corey Blais, age 27, of 586 Northland Rd. was charged with one count of drive while disqualified. It is alleged that the accused was operating a motor vehicle while prohibited to do so by a court order. He will be appearing in court on June 21st at 9:00 am.

Property Crimes

Break and enter

A garage in the 300 block of Goulais Ave was entered. Fishing equipment was stolen. An attempt break and enter was reported at approx. 3:00 am this morning in the 100 block of Reid St.

Theft

Deck furniture was stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Princeton Dr. A bicycle was stolen from the 100 block of Adelaide St. A wallet was stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Greenview Crt.

Mischief

Vehicles were damaged in the 300 block of Dacey Rd. and the 900 block of Pine St.
