Threatening to kill An 18-year old person will be appearing in bail court this morning on a number of charges. It is alleged that the accused person threatened to kill two persons yesterday.

An 18-year old person will be appearing in bail court this morning on a number of charges. It is alleged that the accused person threatened to kill two persons yesterday. At the time of the offence the accused was on two probation orders from when the accused was a young person i.e. under 18 years of age. The accused has been charged with two counts of threatening to cause death or bodily harm and two counts of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA). Due to the charges under the YCJA the accused’s name cannot be released.

Took cab, didn't pay

47-year old Anna Cole of 212 Wallace Terrace will appear in court on December 13 after being arrested shortly after midnight. It is alleged that the accused took a cab and then did not have the money to pay the cab fare last night. She has been charged with one count of obtain transportation by fraud.

Defraud Wal-Mart

42-year old Todd Petrie of 17 Boston Avenue was arrested yesterday morning on outstanding warrants. It is alleged on two dates in September the accused defraud the Wal-Mart store by returning merchandise for refunds that had not been purchased there. Police were called and after the investigation warrants were requested. Mr. Petrie will appear in court on December 6th after being charged with 2 counts of fraud and one count of breach of probation.

Accident at Queen and Elizabeth

City Police investigated an accident with injuries yesterday afternoon shortly after 3 p.m. at Queen Street East and Elizabeth Street. A car being operated by Nancy Wissell of 621 MacDonald Avenue was stopped on Queen Street East waiting to turn northbound onto Elizabeth Street. A car being operated by Joyce Boyer of 39 Barbara Street in Thessalon was behind the Wissell vehicle, was not able to stop in time and ran into the back end of the Wissell car. Both drivers were taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injures. Joyce Boyer has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with one count of follow too close.

Trunk Road crash

Shortly after 3 pm yesterday afternoon officers from the Traffic Services Investigation attended at an accident on Trunk Road in the area of the Husky Truck Stop. The accident involved two transport trucks and a car. The driver of the car, 62-year old Gloria Chaimbrone of McQueen Road was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The drivers of the transports are 30-year old Andrew Toczek of Shakopee, Minnesota and 31-year old Branislav Kovacevic of Waterloo. Officers are asking any one who witnessed this accident to contact them at 949-6300 ext 116 as this investigation is ongoing.

Break-ins at Action Lube, Beaver Gas Bar

City Police responded to an attempt break and enter early this morning to Action Lube at 142 Great Northern Road. Entry was not gained but a window had been broken. Also early this morning someone broke a window at the Beaver Gas Bar at 143 Trunk Road and made off with a small amount of cigarettes. There are no suspects in either of these incidents.
