Male Charged with Criminal Harassment

A 46 yr old male will appear in bail court this morning. It is alleged that on the 8th of September the accused called the residence of his ex-girlfriend and made several threats to harm her family and damage her residence. Police attended the west end residence of the complainant an d while there the accused once again telephoned the residence this time speaking to the investigating officer. The accused was on probation with a condition not to communicate with the complainant or her family. The accused was arrested at an east end residence and was charged with 1 count of criminal harassment, 1 count of threaten death, 1 count of threaten to damage property and 3 counts of breach of release document.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Yesterday morning shortly after 8:00 am City police attended at the intersection of McNabb Street and Great Northern Road. A car operated by 26 yr old Christopher Barsanti of Princeton Drive was traveling south on Great Northern Road. A second car operated by 19yr old Jocelyne Doucet of Church Street was traveling North on Great Northern Road. It is alleged that the Mr. Barsanti attempted to make a left hand turn onto McNabb Street and collided with the vehicle driven by Miss Doucet. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles involved received moderate damage. Mr. Barsanti has been charged under the Ontario Highway traffic act with 1 count of Turn – Not in safety.


City Police Reminder

City Police would like to remind drivers that school has once again started and to be extra cautious of children when driving. There have been complaints of heavy traffic in the areas of Henrietta Avenue and Estelle Avenue due to the closure of the underpass at Wellington Street and Wallace terrace. There are many children in this area walking and riding bikes and scooters to school. If you are using these roadways please use common sense and slow down for our children.
