A total of 15 charges were laid after the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service participated in a Highway Traffic Act (HTA) compliance blitz that targeted insecure loads and unsafe trailers.
It was a joint initiative with the Ontario Provincial Police and the Ministry of Transportation that took place on Second Line East near Black Road on May 4.
A news release issued today highlighted the following HTA infractions that were identified by participating officers:
• Seven level 2 CVSA inspections
• Six level 1 CVSA inspections
• 15 charges
• Four out-of-service violations
