Sault Ste. Marie Police officers charged Jordan Forbes, 38, with weapon possession after the accused was allegedly seen carrying a firearm at a business in the 0-100 block of Bay Street on Oct. 2 around 2:50 a.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, Forbes exited the business and was put under investigative detention.
The investigation revealed the accused was in possession of an airsoft bb gun.
As a result, Forbes was charged with:
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Breach of probation – failing to keep the peace and be of good behaviour (two counts)
- Possession of a weapon or firearm, contrary to prohibition order (three counts)
Forbes was held in custody pending a Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court hearing.
