Man charged after throwing cup of water at security officers

A 50-year-old man has been charged with two counts of assault and failure to comply with a probation order following an early morning arrest

Early this morning, Sault Police officers charged a 50-year-old man with failure to comply with a probation order and two counts of assault.

On April 1, a 911 caller reported the accused throwing a cup of water at two security officers in the 700 block of Wellington Street East. 

A warrant was obtained for his arrest. 

At around 2:50 a.m. this morning, officers attending an unwanted persons call in the 300 block of Trunk Road arrested the accused.

Michael Turcotte is charged with:

  • Assault x 2
  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on June 2. 

None of the accusations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
