A man who pleaded guilty four years ago in connection with one of the Sault’s largest-ever child pornography busts has been arrested again for the same crime.
The latest investigation began on March 23, when detectives with the Technological Crime Unit of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service were tipped off to explicit images of children online.
During a search warrant of the suspect’s residence, police seized electronic devices which they allege contained images “meeting the definition of child pornography.”
Sylvio Montgomery, 30, was located on June 30 and arrested. He is charged with accessing and possessing child pornography.
He is being held pending a bail hearing.
None of the allegations against Montgomery have been tested in court and he is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
