20 year-old Jesse Morin of 254 St. James Street was arrested on the 16th of April at 6:11 am on West Street. He has been charged with one count of break, enter and commit, one count of assault with a weapon, one count of aggravated assault and one count of use of a firearm or imitation during commission of an offence. It is alleged that around 4:19 am the accused broke into a residence on Albert Street West with two other unknown males and attempted to steal some items. The accused was carrying a handgun and a knife and stabbed three males that were inside the residence at the time. The males fled from the residence before police arrival. The accused later surrendered to police at a West Street residence without further incident. Officers contained the residence on West Street and took six more persons into custody. Four were released unconditionally and two males were arrested in relation to other charges.
Eric Mearow, 25 years of age of 2102 Mission Road, was arrested at 9:11 am at the West Street residence and charged with one count of breach of a release document and one count of breach of a peace bond. It is alleged that the accused was found at the West Street residence and when police ran a check on him, they discovered he was breaching his curfew conditions. He was supposed to be in his place of residence from 11 pm to 6 am. A 17 year-old male youth was arrested at 9:13 am at the West Street residence and charged with one count of unlawfully at large, one count of obstruct justice, one count of breach of a release document and one count of theft over $5,000. 00. It is alleged that on the 16th of April at approximately 2 am the accused stole a 1996 Chrysler Intrepid from a person known to him. The vehicle and the accused were located at the West Street Residence. When police arrested the youth, he falsely identified himself and was found to be unlawfully at large from a local youth home. He was also on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The three victims received treatment at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. All three males are to appear in bail court this morning. The incident remains under investigation and detectives are attempting to identify the two other male suspects involved. Investigators are requesting the public’s assistance in this investigation. Impaired Driving Arrest

29 year-old Wade Macleod of 627 Sherbourne Street was arrested on the 18th of April at 12:37 am on Morin Street and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 18th of April at approximately 12:35 am city police checked a vehicle on Morin Street that was being operated with no tail lights and at the time they found the driver, the accused, to be under the influence of alcohol. He is to appear in court on the 31st of May.

Shoplifter Arrested

20 year-old Emily Nethery of 159 Pleasant Avenue was arrested at the Station Mall charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00, one count of breach of probation and one count enter premises when entry prohibited under the Trespass to Property Act. It is alleged that on the 18th of April just before 2 pm the accused attended at Claire’s Accessories Store in the Mall and stole some items. At the time she was on probation conditions to keep the peace and be good and also was not to attend at the Station Mall.

Armed Robbery at Chicago Sub on Second Line West

On the 18th of April at 9:23 am city police were called to Chicago Sub Express on Second Line West regarding an armed robbery. Two males entered the business wearing nylons over their face and dark hoodies and demanded cash. One of the males had a knife. The two male suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police searched the area with negative results. The males were described as being both 5’6” to 5’7”, thin builds and wearing dark hoodies.

Armed Robbery at Mac’s Convenience Store at 647 Second Line West

At 6:08 am this morning city police were called to the Mac’s Convenience Store at 647 Second Line West regarding an armed robbery. Two males entered the store wearing hoodies and demanded cash. One of the males was carrying a knife and was described as being 16 to 17 years of age, wearing a Rip Zone winter ski jacket with a dark hood. The second male was 16 – 17 years of age, approximately 5’5”, 120-130lbs, wearing a grey hoodie. The two males fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. Police searched the area with negative results.
