Arrests for Bail Court Appearance This Morning:

1) 35 year-old Isreal Neveau of 43 Wellington Street West was arrested on the 29th of August at 5:10 pm on John Street and charged with one count of Assault Causing Bodily Harm and one count of Breach of Probation. It is alleged that around 12:30 pm on the 20th of August the accused assaulted a male known to him at a downtown residence. The victim required medical attention for non-life threatening injuries. At the time of the incident the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

2) 19 year-old Joshua Mergaert of 261 Third Line East was arrested on the 28th of August at 8:02 pm at his residence and charged with one count of Robbery. It is alleged that on the 28th of August at approximately 3:30 pm the accused approached a female known to him that was walking on Douglas Street and after a short struggle, stole her backpack that contained some money inside. No injuries were reported.

3) 24 year-old Myles Ketola of no fixed address was arrested on the 28th of August at 2:40 pm on Albert Street and charged with one count of Assault, one count of Threatening Death or Bodily Harm one count of Break, Enter with Intent, one count of Obstruct Peace Officer and one count of Breach of Probation. It is alleged that on the 28th of August shortly after 2 pm the accused broke in to a residence of a male known to him, assaulted and threatened him. At the time of the incident he was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. At the time of his arrest the accused identified himself as someone else.

4) A 43 year-old male was arrested on the 28th of August at 9:55 am at his residence as a result of several domestic related incidents involving his ex-girlfriend. He has been charged with two counts of Assault, two counts of Mischief, one count of Extortion, one count of Assault with a Weapon and three counts of Breach of Probation.
5) A 38 year-old male was arrested on the 29th of August at 2:30 pm on Queen Street East on an outstanding domestic related warrant. He was charged with one count of Assault.

Youth Charged with Consuming Over the Legal Limit:

A 17 year-old male was arrested on the 29th of August at 5:44 am on Great Northern Road and charged with one count of Consume over the Legal Limit. It is alleged that on the 29th of August around 5:33 am City Police received a call regarding a possible impaired driver on Great Northern Road. Officers located the vehicle in the driveway of a restaurant on Great Northern Road and when they checked the driver they found him to be under the influence of alcohol. The accused registered a fail on a roadside screening breathalyzer test. He is to appear in court on the 6th of October.

Male Arrested for Assault:

39 year-old John Southwind of #8-680 Portage Lane was arrested on the 29th of August on James Street and charged with one count of Assault. It is alleged that the accused was wanted for assaulting a male known to him on the 5th of August.

Male Charged with Fraud Related Offences:

30 year-old Nicholas Moore of 21 Elmwood Avenue was arrested on the 28th of August at 7:35 am on Great Northern Road and charged with three counts of Fraud, one count of Utter Forged Document, one count of Obtaining by False Pretence and three counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. It is alleged that between the 14th of July and the 15th of August the accused used a stolen credit card to purchase several items from local businesses. He is to appear in court on the 5th of October.

Male Charged with Mischief:

48 year-old Calvin Britton of 339 Alexandra Street was arrested on the 30th of August on North Street and charged with one count of Mischief. It is alleged that on the 30th of August the accused damaged a vehicle of a person known to him at a residence on North Street.

Property Crimes:

Break and Enter Reports:

• Greenwood Public School on Fourth Line West was entered on the 30th of August. A Laptop and an IBM ThinkPad was reported stolen.
• An apartment in the 200 block of Poplar Avenue was entered on the 31st of August.
• An apartment in the 200 block of Wellington Street East was entered on the 30th of August. Cash was reported stolen.

Mischief Reports:

• A City Transit Bus shelter on Northern Avenue at Willow Avenue was damaged.
• A house on Amherst was egged.
• Vehicles parked on Chambers Avenue and Doncaster Road were reported damaged.
• A Greyhound Bus parked in a parking lot of a hotter Great Northern Road was spray painted.
• Flowers on the property of a residence on Albert Street East were damaged.
• A window of a residence on Robin Street was smashed by rocks.

Thefts:

• Bicycles were stolen on Old Garden River Road, Pine Street, Churchill Boulevard, Kitchener Road, Greenview Lane and Ruth Street.
• Vehicles were entered on Birkshire Place, Elaine Court, Pine Street and James Street. Wallets, an I-Pod, money and a purse were reported taken.
