Male Charged With Assault On Sunday Dec. 19th at approx. 9:10 PM City Police arrested a 31-year-old male and charged him with Assault, Threatening X2, and Breaching a Probation Order X4.

On Sunday Dec. 19th at approx. 9:10 PM City Police arrested a 31-year-old male and charged him with Assault, Threatening X2, and Breaching a Probation Order X4. It is alleged that the accused attended at the victim’s residence early on Sunday morning and assault her by kicking, choking and punching her. While committing the assaults the accused threatened to kill the victim. Victim escaped from the accused and called police. The accused fled from the victim’s home prior to the police arriving. The accused was located later at his home address and arrested. The victim did not require medical attention. The accused will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.

On Saturday Dec. 18th at approx. 10:45 AM the City Police were called to attend at the Sault Charity Casino for a domestic dispute. Upon arrival at the Casino the officers were informed that a 51-year-old male had assaulted a female. The female, known to the accused, was pushed several times by the accused. The accused will be appearing in court on Jan. 24th at 9:00 AM.

Break and Enter

On Sunday December 19th City Police attended at 147 Biggings Ave. in regards to a break and enter to a residence in the 100 block of Biggings Ave. As a result of investigations officers arrested 19-year-ld Lance Wabigwan and charged him with: Break and Enter, Possession of Stolen Property and Breach of a Release Document. Mr. Wabigwan will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.

Male Arrested for Assault

On Sunday December 19th a 24-year-old male was arrested for Assault and Breach of A Release Document. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his wife by striking her with an electric control box and cables. The assault resulted in a minor injury to the victim’s leg. The accused will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.

The Sault Ste Marie Police investigated four break-ins over the weekend.

Entry was gained to a home in the 200 block of Goulais Ave. by breaking a rear window. Once inside a quantity of money was stolen. A home in the 600 block of Wellington St.E. was entered by forcing a rear door. Cash and electronic equipment was stolen. A Home in the 600 block of Queen St. E. was entered via an unlocked door. Cash was stolen. The fourth break and enter was a residence in the 100 block of Biggings Ave.

The R.I.D.E. Program issued two 12 Hour Suspensions on the weekend. Number of cars and drivers stopped is not known.

City Police are investigating 5 reports of mischief from over the weekend.

A residence in the 700 block of Queen St. E. had its front door damage- no entry was gained. Several vehicles, parked in the 1600 block of Trunk Rd., were damaged. Culprits broke the vehicle windows to gain access to the cars. Persons using a key to scratch the vehicle damaged a car parked in the King St. parking lot. A business in the 200 block of Northern Ave. had a front window damaged by unknown person. A business in the 100 block of Queen St.E. had a front window
