On December 30, 2013 at approximately 2:55 a.m. City Police responded to an armed robbery call at Macs Convenience Store located at 2200 Queen Street East. Information received was that two young males had entered the store armed with a baseball bat and confronted the clerk. Cigarettes and lighters were stolen during the robbery. With the assistance of the O.P.P. canine unit, a track was commenced which led to a residence on La Chaumiere Place. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest at 5:20 a.m. of a 15 year old male who was charged with robbery with a weapon, disguise with intent and possession of property obtained by crime, under $5000. Further investigation led to the arrest of another 15 year old male at 7:20 a.m. who was charged with robbery with a weapon. Both males will appear in Bail Court on December 31, 2013.
On December 30, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. City Police attended at a residence in the central part of the city regarding a domestic complaint. Investigation revealed that a male, who was on a recognizance of bail with a condition not to communicate directly or indirectly with the victim, had attempted to contact her through a third party. Accordingly, a 26 year old male was arrested and charged with breach of a recognizance of bail. He will be appearing in Bail Court onDecember 31,2013.
