On the 10th of February, 2014, shortly after 4 a.m. officers from Patrol Services checked a male in the downtown area. After speaking with the male they learned that he was on a bail condition with a curfew of 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Further investigation revealed he also had a condition indicated he was to remain away from Sault Ste. Marie. The male was subsequently arrested. 19-year-old Michael Rivers of Wikwemikong, Ontario, will appear in bail court this morning.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m. on the 9th of February, a driver was southbound on North Street and stopped at Wellington Street West. A male opened the passenger door of the vehicle, reached across the passenger and punched the driver several times. The driver started to drive with the suspect still reaching in the vehicle. The suspect fell out from the vehicle and the driver immediately reported the incident to police. Both the male driver and his female passenger received non-life threatening injuries during the incident. The suspect was wearing a black balaclava, a blue hoodie, and dark pants. The investigation is continuing and is being followed up by officers from Investigation Services.

Matti McClelland, 31 years old, of Willow Avenue, was arrested by city police early last night for shoplifting and breaching a condition of a recognizance. It is alleged that he stole some food items from Romes and was out past a curfew. He will be appearing in Provincial Court on March 10.
21-year-old Kimberly Robinson of no fixed address was charged by city police on February 9 for breaching a condition of her recognizance by being at a downtown address she was prohibited from being at. She will be appearing in Provincial Court on March 10 as well.
