Four persons to appear in bail court On Sunday July 10th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 33-year-old male for mischief, resist arrest and breach of probation.
Four persons to appear in bail court
On Sunday July 10th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 33-year-old male for mischief, resist arrest and breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused male damaged a vehicle on Boston Ave. It is further alleged that when police arrived and went to arrest the accused, who was intoxicated, he resisted arrest. At the time of these offences the accused was on probation with conditions to not consume alcohol and to keep the peace. Lawrence Davies, age 33, of 41 Boston Ave is charged with one count of mischief, one count of resist arrest and two counts of breach of probation.

On Saturday July 9th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 37-year-old male for breach of a recognizance. It is alleged that on July 2nd the accused contacted his ex-girlfriend on two occasions. At the time of this offence the accused was on a recognizance release order with conditions to not communicate with his ex-girlfriend. The accused is charged with one count of breach of a recognizance.

On Friday July 8th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 19-year-old male for mischief and assault. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his ex-common-law wife by slapping and punching her. It is further alleged that on July 6th then accused damaged a television belonging to the victim. The accused is charged with one count of assault and one count of mischief. The victim did not require medical attention.

On Saturday July 9th at approximately 3:50 am members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a
24-year-old male for mischief and breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused threw a rock through a window at The Beer Store on Bruce St. it is further alleged that at the time of this offence the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be good. Tyler Ross, age 24, of 110 Grosvenor St is charged with one count of mischief and one count of breach of probation. The broken window was valued at $1,000.

Female arrested for failing to appear for identification
On Friday July 8th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested an 18-year-old female for failing to appear for identification. It is alleged that, on June 21st, the accused failed to attend at the Sault Ste. Marie Police station for the purpose of fingerprinting. Keyleigh Downey, age 18, of 29 Ferguson Ave is charged with one count of failing to appear for the purpose of identification. Ms Downey is to appear in court on Aug 8th at 9:00 am.

Youth arrested for break and enter, mischief and theft of vehicle
On Saturday July 9th at approximately 4:50 am members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 17-year-old male for break and enter, theft of motor vehicle, mischief and possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that the accused broke into a garage in the 100 block of Ascot Ave and while in the garage used spray paint to cause damage to the garage. The accused is then alleged to have stolen tools from the garage.

It is further alleged that the accused fled the a scene in a vehicle, stolen from another residence in the 100 block of Ascot Ave. Officers located the stolen vehicle at Korah Collegiate after it had struck a guard rail.

The accused was located a short time later in the bush area near Korah Collegiate.

The stolen vehicle sustained major damage. The youth is to appear in court on Tuesday Aug 9th at 9:30 am on charges of break and enter, mischief, possession of property obtained by crime and of theft over $ 5,000.

Break and enter
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated one reported break and enter over the weekend. An apartment in the 300 block of Albert St. E. was entered- electronics and food items were reported stolen.

Mischief
There were two reports of lawn ornaments being damaged in the 900 block of Wallace Terr.

Theft
An orange and black dirt bike was stolen off a pick up truck in the 100 block of South market St.

A bicycle was stolen from the 200 block of St. Mary’s River Dr.

A purse was stolen from the 100 block of John St.
