Five People To Appear In Bail Court This Morning

1) 23-year old Ryan Godson-Roy of front door-218 James Street was arrested on the 28th of July and charged with one count of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance, one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance, three counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance and one count of concealed weapon. It is alleged that on the 28th of July in the early evening hours the accused sold a small amount of cocaine to a plainclothes officer from the Joint Forces Drug Unit. When arrested and searched, officers located several small baggies of cocaine for a total of 3 grams, a morphine patch, a small amount of methadone and an assortment of pills including codeine tablets. The estimated street value of the narcotics is $600. It is further alleged that the accused had a bat concealed on him as well.

2) A 19-year old female was arrested yesterday morning and charged with one count of assault and one count of assault with a weapon. It is alleged that the accused and her common-law boyfriend got into a verbal argument that escalated. It is alleged that the accused punched the victim and also struck him with a telephone. The victim did not require medical treatment. The incident occurred in the central area of town.

3) 19-year old Tyler Kennedy of 14-122 Allard Street was arrested on the 30th of July and charged with 4 counts. It is alleged that on June 26th the accused assaulted a male known to him by punching him. It is further alleged the on the 27th of July the accused assaulted a female and a male known to the accused by punching them. The victims did not require medical treatment for their non-life threatening injuries.

4) A 37-year old female was arrested 28th of July and charged with one count of unlawfully in a dwelling house, one count of breach of a release order, one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that the 28th of July the accused attended at the address of her ex-boyfriend and removed some belongings of the accused from the address. At the time of the offence the accused was on a release order to notify a change of address and it is alleged that she failed to do so.

5) 56-year old Earl Pitawanakwat of 4-244 Queen Street East was arrested on the 29th of July on outstanding warrants. It is alleged that the accused failed to attend court on the 19th of June in relation to impaired driving charged from May of this year. It is further alleged that on the 29th of July the accused breached his probation by being at an address he was on conditions to stay away from. The accused will appear in court this morning for two count of breach of probation, one count of fail to attend court, one count of impaired driving, one count of consume over the legal limit and one count of fail to remain at an accident.

Impaired Drivers

1) 24-year old Thomas Tegosh of 3 Nebenaigoching Street was arrested on the 28th of July in the afternoon and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that the accused was operating a pickup truck eastbound on Trunk Road just before 3 pm. A van operated by a 37-year old male was eastbound on Trunk Road but was stopped at the red light at Trunk Road and Black Road. It is alleged that the accused failed to stop and ran into the rear of the van. Damage to both vehicles was described as light. Mr. Tegosh will appear in court on August 28th.

2) On the 29th of July just before 3 am City Police attended at Goulais Avenue and Second Line West for a single motor vehicle collision. It is alleged that a pickup truck operated by 18-year old Jamie Palahnuk of 733 Short Street was traveling eastbound on Second Line West, turned left onto Goulais Avenue and then struck a utility pole. Damage to the truck was severe. The passenger in her vehicle was not harmed. Officers at the collision detected an odour of alcohol on the accused and she was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. The accused was also taken by ambulance to the Sault Area Hospital for treatment of no-life threatening injuries. She will appear in court on September 11th.

3) On the 29th of July just before 5:30 pm officer from Patrol Services were traveling westbound on McNabb Street when they observed a vehicle ahead of them swerve from it’s lane and almost strike another vehicle. The driver of that vehicle swerved out of the way to avoid being hit. Officers stopped the accused’s vehicle on McNabb Street near Pim Street and observed that the driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. 35-year old Debra Fitzgerald of main floor-641 Queen Street West has been arrested and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of fail to provide a breath sample. She will appear in court on September 11th.

4) 57-year old Sandra Mills of 8474 Fieldgate Drive, Mississauga was arrested on the 29th of July just after 10 pm and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that the accused was driving her vehicle northbound on Black Road and was weaving all over the road. A citizen called the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and officers stopped the vehicle at Black Road and Second Line East. When officers spoke to the driver they detected an odour of an alcoholic beverage on her and she was subsequently arrested. She will appear in court on August 28th.

5) On the 30th of July around 2:30 am another alert citizen called the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service to report a possible impaired driver. It is alleged that a vehicle was traveling in an erratic manner in the area of Wallace Terrace, Second Line West and Lyons Avenue. Officers stopped the vehicle on Cooper Street. 30-year old Jennifer Salvador of 601 Cooper Street has been charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. She will appear in court on September 11th.

Break & Enters

1) A home in the 1000 block of Old Garden River Road was broken into on the 28th of July.
Sometime between 12 noon and 2 pm thieves entered the home and stole jewellery, a DVD player and a camera.

2) On the 28th of July the Massage Clinic located at 390 Bay reported a break and enter overnight. It is unknown if anything was taken.

3) Sometime between 3 pm and 4 pm on July 30th a home on Brien Avenue was entered and money from a wallet was taken.

4) On the 30th of July between 1 pm and 4:30 pm a home on Euclid Road was entered and a TV, speakers and a computer part were taken.

5) Just after 11 pm on the 30th of July thieves broke into the Straithclair canteen located at the Straithclair Fields. It is unknown at this time of anything was taken.

6) Just after midnight on the 31st of July City Police attended at Queensgate Greens Golf Club located on Queensgate Boulevard for a break and enter. It is unknown if anything was taken in this break and enter.
