DOMESTIC CHARGES A 20-year old male will appear in bail court this morning regarding a number of domestic related charges. On the 16th of June it is alleged the male assaulted his girlfriend by grabbing her arm and pushing her to the ground.

A 20-year old male will appear in bail court this morning regarding a number of domestic related charges. On the 16th of June it is alleged the male assaulted his girlfriend by grabbing her arm and pushing her to the ground. As she laid on the ground he threatened to kill her.

The victim also provided information to the officers of an earlier assault from 2003 in which the male knocked her to the ground and choked her. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation with terms to keep the peace and be good.

At the time of the arrest the accused was also charged with possession of stolen property. In May of this year a house in the 100 block of Kohler Street was broken into and the accused allegedly pawned a gold bracelet from this break and enter shortly after the offence. An arrest warrant had been issued.

He has been charged with 2 counts of assault, one count of threatening, one count of possession of stolen property and 2 counts of breach of probation.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
A 27-year-old male will court on a number of domestic related incidents that occurred from December 2003 to June 19th 2004. Over that time frame it is alleged that the male assaulted the female victim a number of times in a residence in the City’s central area.

The assaults range from slapping and kicking to punching, as well as sexual assault. The accused is also alleged to have refused to allow the victim to leave the residence or allow her to contact anyone.

He is charged with 5 counts of assault, two counts of sexual assault, one count of sexual assault with a weapon, and one count of forcible confinement.

IMPAIRED DRIVING
Jeff Large, age 46, of Stonewall, Manitoba will appear in bail court this morning regarding an incident in the City’s east end on June 20th. Patrol officers responded to a call of a male who appeared to be impaired getting into a tractor-trailer that was parked on the side of a road. As a result the accused was charged with impaired driving, as well as fail to provide a breath sample.


SHE ASSAULTED HIM
On the 20th of June officers were called to an address in the city’s west end regarding a domestic dispute. It is alleged that a 35-year-old female assaulted her partner by punching him in the head as well as the legs. The male did not require any medical treatment. The accused will appear in bail court today.


BUSTED AT ACCIDENT
Cleveland Marshall, age 50, of 249 Glasgow Avenue will appear in court on July 26th after he was charged with consuming over the legal limit and possession of a controlled drug or substance. On the 19th of June at approximately 4:40 pm, Mr. Marshall was involved in a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Bay and Bingham Streets after his vehicle rear-ended a vehicle driven by Timothy Keenan of Brimley, Michigan, when Mr. Keenan turned northbound from Bay Street to Bingham Street.

Both drivers were operating pick-up trucks, and both received light damage. When Mr. Marshall was searched after he had been arrested he was found to have a small amount of hashish on him.


IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGE
Henry Michel, age 58, of 19 Lauzon Crescent, Elliot Lake will appear in court on the 26th of July. It is alleged that the accused was attempting to leave an address in the 700 block of Bay Street while intoxicated. Citizens called the City Police who prevented Mr. Michel from getting out of the address onto Bay Street. Mr. Michel was displaying obvious signs of impairment, and as a result was charged with impaired driving and consuming over the legal limit.

IMPAIRED DRIVING AND DRUG CHARGES
Terry Vallee, age 37, of 184 East Balfour was observed driving his vehicle in an erratic manner on June 19th at around 8:30 pm on Second Line West. Mr.Vallee pulled into a business parking lot in the 600 block of Second Line West and ran into a concrete partition. City Police were called to the scene and subsequently arrested Mr. Vallee for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and consuming over the legal limit.

When searched upon arrest, the accused had a small amount of cannabis resin on him and was also charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. Further investigation revealed that the accused was a disqualified driver, and was subsequently charged with one count of operate motor vehicle when disqualified. He will appear in court on July 26th.

ANOTHER IMPAIRED CHARGE
On the 20th of June at approximately 7:45 pm, a pickup was traveling southbound on Great Northern Road, just south of Sixth Line, when it’s driver lost control on the curve, crossed the centre line to the paved shoulder on the other side of the road, then struck a caution sign, when onto the soft shoulder of the road, struck a second road sign and came to a stop on the paved shoulder of the northbound lane.

The driver then drove away and turned onto the Fifth Line, then onto Black Road, and then onto Trunk Road where his truck stalled. The accused got it started . Various members of the public assisted police by calling in and reporting the direction of travel of the vehicle. Officers were able to stop the vehicle in the area of Black Road and Trunk Road. Kirkaldy Brouillard of 126 Birchwood Street was charged with impaired driving and failing to provide a breath sample. He will appear in court on July 26th.

CHURCH BREAK-IN
On Saturday at approximately 3 am, City Police received a call to a break and enter in progress at St. Andrews Church on Wellington St E. When police entered the building, they found Mark Martin, age 33, of 1-131 Pilgrim Street inside. He was charged with one count of break and enter and will appear in court on the 26th of July.

PROJECT KICK START
Last week “Project Kick Start” resulted in 85 Provincial Offence Act tickets being issued, and 1 Highway Traffic Arrest, after officers concentrated on a number of locations in the City. The majority of the tickets were issued for speeding and intersection infractions.
