Officers from the Traffic Services Section need your assistance in their investigation of an accident with injuries that occurred on Saturday October 2nd around noon hour.

76-year-old Gustave Morrison advised the officer that he was getting out of his van in front of Bikini Kuts on Queen Street East, and as he was walking towards the back of his vehicle, he was struck by a vehicle driving by and was hit hard enough to be thrown in the air.

Mr. Morrison advised that the vehicle in question stopped and the passenger got out to see if he was all right and then the vehicle left the area. Mr. Morrison did not receive any injuries that required medical treatment at the time of the report. There is no vehicle description available.

ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES
Traffic Services were called to another accident with injuries on Sunday shortly after 12 noon on Great Northern Road at Terrance Avenue.

A motorcycle being operated by 51-year-old Scott Barclay of Amber Street was travelling northbound on Great Northern Road, when a car travelling southbound on Great Northern Road turned left in front of Mr. Barclay.

The driver of the car, 76-year old Pasquale Aceti of Prince Charles Crescent was taken by ambulance to the hospital as well as Mr. Barclay. Officers are still investigation this matter and charges are pending.


BREAK & ENTER
On October 2nd a home in the 800 block of Third L W was broken into and jewellery was taken. A break and enter was also report on October 3rd where a home in the 100 block of Beech Street was entered over night.

Persons forced open a gun cabinet and removed two .22 caliber handguns and a .357 caliber handgun. Nothing else appears to have been taken in this incident.



CHARGES STEM FROM ACCIDENT
26-year-old Christopher Paul Macleod of 27 Ferguson Avenue will appear in bail court this morning after he was involved in an accident on Friday night on Trunk Road.

It is alleged that shortly after 7 pm the Macleod car ran into the back of a car begin driven by 64-year-old James Thomson of Thessalon. Both vehicles were travelling eastbound on Trunk Road in the 100 block when Mr. Macleod ran into the back of his car.

Mr. Macleod fled the scene of the accident and police were called. A passenger in the Thomson vehicle, 45-year old Denise Santana, received injuries but did not require any medical treatment.

Shortly before 8 pm police located and arrested Macleod. It was also learned that there were some outstanding warrants for the accused from 2 incidents from the fall of 2003.

Macleod has been charged with one count of impaired driving, one count of fail to remain at an accident and one count of fail to provide a breath sample, all related to the accident. The warrants are for one count of cause a disturbance by being drunk and one count of failing to appear in court.


THREATENS CHILD WITH KNIFE
A 37-year-old male will appear in bail court this morning on a number of domestic-related charges from an incident on September 28th. It is alleged that the male went to his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and police were called.

Upon arrival he was waving a knife around and had a hold of a young child. The accused was gesturing as if he was going to harm the child and was yelling at the police to shoot him. The child was pulled to safety by the officers at the scene and the male was taken into custody on non-criminal related charges.

He was on conditions not to communicate with the ex-girlfriend who was in the residence.

Officers from the Investigation Services Section became involved and after further investigation it was learned that the male had also contacted the ex-girlfriend on the phone on an earlier date while on conditions not to communicate with the victim.

The accused was arrested on October 2nd and has been charged with 3 counts of breach of undertaking, one count of assault, two counts of threatening and one count of resist arrest. He will appear in bail court today.


ARRESTED FOR CAUZING DISTURBANCE
21-year-old Georgina King-Mandamin of 1-170 Bruce Street will appear in court on November 8th after being arrested on October 3rd around 4 am.

City Police received a call of a female jumping on cars in the area of Bruce Street, and when officers located the female at an address in the 200 block of Albert St E they learned she had just broken the front lobby window.

The accused was aggressive with officers and resisted arrest in addition to hissing and growling at the officers. Ms King-Mandamin has been charged with one count of mischief under $5,000 and one count of cause a disturbance.


BREAK & ENTER
23-year-old Ricky John Penney of 233 Glasgow Avenue was arrested on the 3rd of October shortly after 8 am after he allegedly smashed the front window of Bygone Antiques of 348 Bruce Street.

It is alleged that Mr. Penney also entered the store and removed 2 silverware sets valued at $65 each, some money and a ring of keys.

Penney was arrested shortly after the incident and was charged with one count of break and enter and commit an offence, in addition to one count of breach of probation.

The property as recovered and returned to the store. Penney will appear in court on November 8th.


DRUG BUST
On Friday morning city police went to an address on Wallace Terrace to interview 2 persons. While in the home officers observed a marijuana plant as well as a quantity of marijuana.

Officers seized the drugs, which have a street value of around $250. 28-year-old Christopher Zalewski and 22-year-old Becky Crowe both of 261/2 Wallace Terrace have each been charged with one count of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance and one count of production of a controlled drug or substance.

Mr. Zalewski was also charged with one count of breach of probation. They will appear in court on November 8th.
