One man has been charged after an altercation with police at Churchill Plaza late Tuesday morning.
“Officers attended the Churchill Plaza area for an unwanted person,” said Sault Ste. Marie Police Service spokesperson Lincoln Louttit.
“Upon arrival, the person who was not wanted in the area resisted police and an altercation took place. Officers were able to gain control of this person and they have been charged accordingly,” said Louttit.
“No officer injuries and no significant injuries to the accused that I am aware of,” he added.
Shortly after noon, police had left the scene. No details are available about the specific charges.
“We don’t have the details as of yet, but likely in the morning that information will be released,” said Louttit.
