Two people face charges after police responded to a break-in at a John Street business shortly after midnight today.
A news release issued by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service says that upon arrival, responding officers located 36-year-old Melissa Skouris and 49-year-old Michael Solomon inside the business.
Some damage was caused to the property, and "Skouris was found to be in possession of a mask, gloves, and bolt cutters. Solomon was found to be in possession of bolt cutters, gloves, and a flashlight," the release says.
As a result of this incident, Skouris is charged with:
• Break and enter
• Possession of break-in instruments
• Disguise with intent
• Mischief under $5,000
Solomon is charged with:
• Break and enter
• Possession of break-in instruments
• Mischief under $5,000
Both are scheduled to appear in court on June 17.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and both suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
