A pedestrian being struck by a vehicle on Wednesday has led to charges against a 45-year-old.
Police say that on Wednesday around 4:40 p.m., Sault Ste. Marie Police Service officers responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.
The victim was not taken to hospital, but sustained minor injuries.
During the investigation, officers determined the accused was in a vehicle, and the victim was walking on Queen Street East near Tancred Street. Police say an argument ensued and the accused drove away, then turned around at a high rate of speed, striking the victim with the vehicle before leaving the area.
On Thursday, officers with Patrol Services charged 45-year-old Tammy Poliszczak with dangerous operation and assault with a weapon as a result of the investigation.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court at the end of October.
