Sault Police officers charged an 18-year-old man on Wednesday after an incident involving a machete.
A 911 caller reported an assault at a multi-unit residence building in the 400 block of Pim Street at around 8 p.m.
“An investigation revealed the accused invited a victim into their unit and attempted to strike them with a weapon, believed to be a machete. The accused was arrested," police said in a news release.
Police charged Nicholas Sachro with:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Failure to Comply with Release Order – Other Than to Attend Court
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on July 28.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
