A shooting in the area of Lasalle Boulevard and Notre Dame Avenue left a 35-year-old man with serious but non-life-threatening injuries; the shooter is still at large, said Greater Sudbury Police in a press release.
Though few details have emerged, police are reporting that the man was shot while riding in a 2024 Black Ford F-150 truck, driven by another still-unidentified man.
The truck "believed to be involved” was later found unoccupied in the downtown core.
GSPS are reporting that just before 8:00 p.m. on March 25, they received a call regarding a weapons complaint that occurred in the area of Lasalle Boulevard and Notre Dame Avenue. “Information provided was that an individual had been shot and was being transported to the hospital by a community member,” said the release.
The suspect fled in the vehicle prior to police being called.
Officers attended the hospital and spoke with the man, but the investigation into the driver’s identity is ongoing, said police.
“This is believed to be a targeted incident as the individuals involved are known to each other,” said the release.
