POLICE RUN DOWN CAR-THEFT SUSPECTS Just before 5 a.m. today, City Police recovered a stolen 1995 Ford Contour sedan and ran down two individuals seen fleeing the vehicle. The car was taken sometime between 3 and 3:30 a.m.
POLICE RUN DOWN CAR-THEFT SUSPECTS

Just before 5 a.m. today, City Police recovered a stolen 1995 Ford Contour sedan and ran down two individuals seen fleeing the vehicle.

The car was taken sometime between 3 and 3:30 a.m. from a Letcher Street residence.

When the car was later spotted in the Fourth Line/People's Road area, two young men were seen fleeing the scene.

The 18- and 17-year-old were chased down on foot, with help from Eagle of the canine unit.

They'll be charged with theft of a vehicle and possession of stolen property, with an expected court dsate in late June.

BREACH OF PROBATION

A man found living on Sault Ste. Marie's James Street will be in bail court today after it was found he was under a judge's orders to remain in Sudbury and refrain from using alcohol.

Dennis Theriault, 50, is charged with breach of probation.

BOOZE KEEPS POLICE HOPPING

The beginning of the May long weekend kept police hopping with numerous instances of intoxication in a public place.
