A 23-year-old Sault Ste. Marie man faces multiple charges after an incident where he allegedly threatened a security officer with hammers.
On March 19, police responded to a disturbance report in the 100 block of East Street around 10:15 a.m.
Police say a man was lying on a sidewalk outside a business when security asked him to move.
The man then allegedly stood up, wielding two hammers, and threatened the officer.
Police said the man used one of the hammers to damage a taillight on a nearby vehicle.
Officers obtained an arrest warrant and located the accused on March 26.
Shawn Seymour is charged with assault with a weapon, mischief under $5,000 and three counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on May 26.
None of the accusations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
