Six people are facing a long list of drug-related charges after a major bust last night in the city's west end.
At approximately 5:40 p.m., Sault Police executed a search warrant in the 600 block of Wellington Street West, temporarily blocking traffic between Conmee and Henrietta avenues.
In a news release issued today, police say detectives turned up nearly $68,000 worth of street drugs, including 404 grams of suspected fentanyl, 61 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 9 grams of suspected cocaine.
Police say they also seized $9,899 in cash, drug packaging material, weigh scales, a replica handgun, ammunition and a $3,200 guitar reported stolen from a local business.
“A search of each of the accused also found one of them to be in possession of a firearm,” the release states.
Thomas Atkinson, 43, is charged with:
- Possession of Schedule I Substance for Purpose of Trafficking x3
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Carrying Concealed Weapon
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Carry Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device, or Ammunition in Careless Manner
- Failure to Comply with Release Order – Other Than to Attend Court x3
Alyssa Colasacco, 26, is charged with:
- Possession of Schedule I Substance for Purpose of Trafficking x3
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
Robert Day, 40, is charged with:
- Possession of Schedule I Substance for Purpose of Trafficking x3
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
John Giuliani, 54, is charged with:
- Possession of Schedule I Substance for Purpose of Trafficking x3
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
Amy Leonard, 43, is charged with:
- Possession of Schedule I Substance for Purpose of Trafficking x3
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
Andrew Petts, 33, is charged with:
- Possession of Schedule I Substance for Purpose of Trafficking x3
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Failure to Comply with Probation Order x4
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x2
All six suspects were held in custody pending bail hearings.
None of the allegations against any of the suspects have been tested in court and all are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
