Police have arrested Thomas Dietz after it is alleged that he broke into an east-end garage and was found in possession of suspected fentanyl.
A news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service states that officers responded to Golf Range Crescent early Tuesday morning after a homeowner confronted the accused as he exited a garage. The accuse fled the area prior to police arrival.
Responding officers located the accused on Wellington Street East a short time later and conducted a search, discovering .7 grams of a substance believed to be fentanyl.
The 32-year-old stands charged with break and enter, trespassing, and possession of a controlled substance. Dietz is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 26.
