Teen charged after stolen vehicle discovered in middle of the road

Officers followed footprints leading away from the vehicle and located the accused nearby

Sault Police officers arrested a 19-year-old man on Friday night, charging him with stealing a vehicle. 

At around 8:45 p.m., a 911 caller reported an abandoned vehicle in the middle of the roadway in the 0-100 block of Kent Avenue. 

“Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle which had been reported stolen earlier that day. Officers followed footprints leading away from the vehicle and located the accused nearby," police said in a news release.

Connor Reed is charged with theft of a motor vehicle. He was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on June 6.

None of the accusations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
