Overnight the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated two armed robberies: 1) At approximately 7:20 pm last evening a male attended at the North Street Mini Mart and brandished a gun.
Overnight the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated two armed robberies:

1) At approximately 7:20 pm last evening a male attended at the North Street Mini Mart and brandished a gun. The clerk was not physically harmed and nothing was obtained by the suspect.

The suspect is described as being 5’8” to 5’9” tall, wearing black wind pants, a black jacket with a white stripe on the sleeve, blue running shoes, a toque and a black mask. It is possible that the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.

2) Just before 2 am this morning two males attended at the Mac’s Convenience Store on McNabb Street and robbed the store at knife point. One of the suspects covered his face with a black head band. The clerk was not physically harmed and a small undisclosed amount of money was stolen. It is possible that the males fled the scene in a vehicle. The male suspects are described as:

a. Suspect #1 is a male between 5’6” to 5’8” tall around 18 years of age wearing a dark hat, a dark jacket with a wide light or white coloured stripe, dark pants, dark shoes, and dark gloves.

b. Suspect #2 is a male wearing a light sweater with a slightly darker hoody, dark pants, white running shoes and white or light coloured gloves.


Officers from Investigation Services are continuing to work on these robberies. Anyone who may have witnessed these robberies or who has information of who may be responsible for them is asked to contact the Sault Ste Marie Police Service at 949-6300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. Anyone who witnesses any suspicious activity or persons in the areas of any businesses or residences is encouraged to report this to the police.

Threatening to Damage Property/Animals

A 46 year old female was arrested and charged last evening with one count of threatening to damage property/animals. It is alleged that the accused threatened to damage her ex-husband’s property and harm his dogs. She will appear in court on April 25th.
