Two Persons For Bail Court 1) A 52 year old male was arrested on the 30th of September 2009 at 8:45 a.m. in the West End of the city subsequent to a domestic incident that had occurred several days earlier.

1) A 52 year old male was arrested on the 30th of September 2009 at 8:45 a.m. in the West End of the city subsequent to a domestic incident that had occurred several days earlier. It is alleged that the accused was with his girlfriend at a camp east of the city on the 26th of September 2009 where he assaulted her by throwing her to the ground. It is further alleged that he threatened to kill the victim as well as another person known to her. He has been charged with assault and two counts of threatening death.

2) A 13 year old male young offender is to attend bail court for allegedly breached a condition of his recognizance. The accused was arrested on the 30th of September 2009 at 4:45 p.m. in the West End of the city. It is alleged that he molested, harassed and physically interfered with a person known to him while being prohibited from doing so as a condition of his recognizance. His actions included damaging the outside stairs of the victim’s West End home as well as grabbing and threatening the victim.

Traffic Accident Involving Stolen Bicycle

On the 30th of September 2009 at approximately 8:25 a.m. 39 year old Ronald James Stewart was operating a bicycle south bound through the driveway at civic 352 Northern Avenue East (Holy Trinity Church) and proceeded onto the roadway where he was struck by a west bound car. The accused sustained minimal injuries. He was treated on scene by ambulance and released but was arrested by police as the bike that he was riding on had been reported stolen minutes earlier from Tim Hortons on Great Northern Road. He was subsequently charged with Possession of Stolen Property and Breach of an Undertaking as he had been drinking alcohol while being prohibited from its possession or consumption. Mr. Stewart was additionally charged under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario for Failing to Yield from a Private Roadway. The 64 year old male driver of the car did not sustain any injuries while the bike caused light damage to his vehicle. The bicycle itself, however, sustained moderate damage which was localized primarily to the front tire. Mr. Stewart’s attendance is required in court on the 9th of November 2009.

Shoplifters

1) 76 year old Lester Nagy of 727 Wellington Street East was arrested on the 30th of September 2009 at 8:25 p.m. at the A&P Store situated at 150 Churchill Blvd. It is alleged that the accused left the store while making no attempt to pay for several cans of cat food and some chicken fingers that he had concealed in his jacket. The accused was arrested by security personnel and held for police. He was charged with Theft Under Five Thousand Dollars and is to attend court on the 2nd of November 2009.

2) 29 year old Tara Siobhan Caswell of 689 Wellington Street West was arrested on the 30th of September 2009 at 4:58 p.m. at the A&P Store as well. It is alleged that the accused placed a large quantity of meat in a shopping cart then left the store without paying for it. She was arrested by security and held for police. The accused was charged with Theft Under Five Thousand Dollars and is to attend court on the 2nd of November 2009 as well.

There was an attempt Break and Enter reported to a residence located in the 400 Block of Albert Street West.
