Male Arrested for Assault and Mischief:

33 year-old Darren Quinn of 56 Ferguson Avenue was arrested on the 2nd September at 4:53 pm at his residence and charged with one count Assault and one count of Mischief under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 2nd of September the accused assaulted a male known to him on Ferguson Avenue that resulted in non-life threatening injuries. The accused also damaged the same victim’s vehicle the day prior. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Domestic Related Arrests:

1) A 20 year-old male was arrested on the 2nd of September at 4:55 pm at his residence and charged with two counts of Assault and one count of Mischief in relation to a domestic related incident on the 21st of August where he assaulted his common law spouse and damaged some furniture at their residence. The accused is to attend in bail court this morning.

2) A 27 year-old female was arrested on the 2nd of September at 5:23 pm at her residence and charged with one count of Assault and one count of Mischief under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 2nd of September at 4:50 pm the accused attended at her ex-boyfriend’s residence and assaulted him. She is to appear in court on the 7th of October.

Drug Warrant Arrest:

On the 1st of September at 4:30 pm members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Services Street Team and Patrol Services executed a search warrant at 708 Walls Road. During the course of the search officers located 10 marihuana plants growing on the property. As a result, 29 year-old Steven Knight of 708 Walls Road was arrested and charged him with one count of Production a Controlled Drug or Substance and one count of Possession of a Controlled Drug or Substance. The street value of the drugs seized was $10,000.00. He is to appear in court on the 5th of October.

Male Shoplifter Arrested:

40 year-old Craig Jones of #4-102 Breton Road was arrested on the 2nd of September at 5:43 am on Wellington Street East and charged with one count of Theft under $5,000.00 and one count of Mischief. It is alleged that on the 2nd of September at 5:30 am the accused attended at the Mac’s Convenience Store on Wellington Street East and stole some food products and when he was leaving threw a rock through the door window. He is to appear in court on the 5th of October.

Property Crimes:
Theft Reports:

• Bikes were reported stolen on Goulais Avenue.
• A vehicle was entered in the 700 block of Great Northern Road and a CD player was reported stolen.
• A Lawnmower was stolen from a shed on Abbott Street.

Mischief Reports:

• A bus shelter on Bennett Boulevard was damaged.
• A gate of a property on Kohler Street was damaged.
• A rock was thrown at a vehicle parked on Prince Charles Crescent that resulted in damage to the windshield.
• A vehicle was keyed on Carufel Avenue.
