The Following People Will Appear In Bail Court This Morning 1) 27-year old Jason Peltier of Wikwemikong, Ontario, was arrested on the 7th of August in the afternoon and charged with one count on sexual assault.
The Following People Will Appear In Bail Court This Morning

1) 27-year old Jason Peltier of Wikwemikong, Ontario, was arrested on the 7th of August in the afternoon and charged with one count on sexual assault. It is alleged that on the 5th of August in the early morning hours the accused sexually assaulted a 24-year old female known to the accused. The incident occurred in a downtown residence.

2) 23-year old James Westover of no fixed address was arrested on the 4th of August and charged with one count of flight from police, one count of assault with a weapon, one count of resist arrest, one count of theft over $5,000, one count of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of weapon concealed, one count of possession of a weapon for purpose dangerous, one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. Just before 10 am on the 4th of August officers on routine patrol attempted to stop a vehicle on Queen Street East near Pine Street. It is alleged that the driver of the vehicle failed to stop and a police pursuit took place. The vehicle was pursued to the area of Shannon Road were the suspect vehicle crashed into a tree. The male driver fled on foot with officers chasing the accused on foot. The accused was located hiding in a bush area and when officers attempted to arrest the accused the accused pulled a knife out his pants and held it towards one of the officers. Officers were able to disarm the accused who was taken into custody. The accused was under the influence of alcohol at the time. Through the course of their investigation into the incident officers learned that the vehicle the accused had been driving had been stolen from Purvis Marine. The vehicle was demolished in the crash.

3) 38-year old Carolyn Burch of 1-470 John Street was arrested on the 4th of August and charged with one count of assault, one count of assault with a weapon, one count of mischief and two counts of breach of a release order. It is alleged that in the evening hours the accused assaulted a female victim known to the accused by punching the victim in the head. The accused also waved a broken beer bottle at the victim and broke a fan belonging to the victim. At the time of the offences the accused was on a release document with a number of conditions.

4) 24-year old Lorne Guilbault of 32 Manilla Terrace was arrested on the 4th of August at 6 pm and charged with one count of impaired driving and 4 counts of breach of a release document. It is alleged that the accused failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of John Street and Alexandra Street. A police vehicle traveling northbound on John Street had to swerve to avoid being hit. Officers stopped the accused, observed that the driver had been drinking and subsequently arrested the male. The accused was on a release document with conditions not to communicate with a passenger in his vehicle, not to occupy the drivers seat of a motor vehicle, not to have a vehicle without the owners consent and to notify a changed of address, which the accused failed to do.

5) 49-year old Louis Caruso of 11 White Oak Drive was arrested on the on the 6th of August by officers from Investigation Services and charged with one count of sexual assault. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of the 6th of August the accused sexually assaulted a 25-year old female who is known to the accused. The incident occurred in a centrally located address.

49 Year Old Charged With Assault With A Weapon

On the 4th of August officers from Patrol Services arrested 49-year old Louis Caruso of 11 White Oak Drive and charged him with one count of assault with a weapon. Around 12 noon on the 4th of August the accused and two male persons known to the accused got into a verbal argument with the each other. When the two males went to pull away in a vehicle from the accused’s home it is alleged that the accused threw a piece of steel at a vehicle. The passenger’s side window was broken and the steel struck the victim in the face. The victim did seek medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries. The accused will appear in court on September 11th.

Break & Enter

City Police received a number of break and enter reports over the long weekend. They include:

1) A home on Atwater Street was reported broken into on the 4th of August. Sometime between the 1st and the 4th the residence was entered and a computer and some jewellery was taken.

2) A home on Queensgate Boulevard was entered between the 4th of August at 8:30 am and the 6th of August at 12:45 pm. Thieves made off with jewellery and an undisclosed amount of money.

3) Between 4:30 pm and 10 pm on the 6th of August persons broke into a home on Sutton Place and stole a laptop computer.

4) On the 7th of August at approximately 12:40 am thieves broke into Muio’s Confectionary Store located on Queen Street East and East Street. It is unknown if anything was taken.

5) On the 7th of August between 12 noon and 4 pm a home on Hare Avenue was entered and it is unknown what is missing at this time.

6) On the 8th of August at 1:40 am thieves broke into the Strathclair Canteen and stole potato chips and possibly other items.
