Yesterday afternoon a 45-year old male turned himself into City Police in regards to a domestic violence investigation. It is alleged that on the 8th of July the accused allegedly assaulted his girlfriend by choking her and biting her in the arm area while in a centrally located residence. Also on that day it is alleged that the accused threatened to harm the victim and her child. The accused has been charged with one count of assault and two counts of threatening to cause death or bodily harm. He will appear in bail court this morning.

News Release June 24th

Just after midnight this morning patrol officers attended in the 300 block of John Street regarding a robbery call. It is alleged that 4 persons forced their way into the residence and pushed the 72-year old male victim down. It is unknown at this time if anything was taken. The victim did not receive any injuries in the incident. 3 persons have been taken into custody and the 4th suspect is being sought by police. Officers from Investigation Services are continuing to work on this matter. 21-year old Rosemary Pheasant of 16 Hughes Street has been charged with one count of robbery, 23-year old John Corbiere of 68 Cathcart Street, rear apartment has been charged with one count of robbery and one count of break and enter and commit an offence, and 33-year old Daniel Saris of 187 Tancred Street has been charged with one count of robbery and one count of break and enter and commit an offence. All three will appear in court on July 25th.

UPDATE:

City Police arrested 23-year old Terrance Saunders of no fixed address early this morning on outstanding warrants in regards to the above robbery call on June 24th. It is alleged that the accused was with the three above accused persons and the accused allegedly pushed the victim down and threatened him. A warrant for his arrest had been issued shortly after the incident. It is also alleged that on a later date in June a Patrol Officer stopped the accused, but the accused provided a false name. It is also alleged that when stopped by officers early this morning the accused again provided a false name but was known to the officers who stopped him. Mr. Saunders will appear in bail court this morning. He is charged with 2 counts of obstruct police, one count of robbery and one count of break and enter and commit an offence. He will appear in bail court this morning.

City Police arrested 2 shoplifters yesterday:

36-year-old Rhonda Cory of 412 Pioneer Park was arrested yesterday morning after it is alleged she attempted to leave Canadian Tire with a bike seat and some trimmer line. She was apprehended by store security and turned over to City Police. She has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and will appear in court on August 22nd.

19-year old Ryan Boyer of 46 Gemah Street, Garden River was arrested yesterday afternoon. It is alleged that on July 11th the accused stole a pair of shorts from the Foot Locker Store in the Station Mall. Yesterday mall security identified Mr. Boyer as the male responsible for the theft from the store. Mr. Boyer has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000. At the time of his arrest the accused was on probation with terms to keep the peace and be good. Mr. Boyer was also charged with one count of breach of probation. He will appear in court on August 22nd for both charges.

Tyler Wins a New Bike

Yesterday morning City Police and Rome’s Your Independent Grocer presented 12-year old Tyler Trovarello with a brand new mountain bike courtesy of Rome’s and Kellogg’s. Tyler had participated in the City Police bike rodeo held at Rome’s on June 23rd and his name was drawn from those participants who successfully completed the skill testing bike course.
