Male Arrested for Taking Motor Vehicle without Owner’s Consent
Officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested 21 year-old Eric Elie of 152 Corbeill Road, Batchewana Bay on the 29th of November at 5:11 at the police station and charged him with one count of take auto without consent. It is alleged that on 28th of November between 3:00 am – 8:30 am the accused attended at a local residence of a person known to him and without their permission, took their 2004 Sunfire and drove it to his residence in Batchewana Bay. The accused is to attend court on the 10th of January 2011.

Shoplifting Arrests
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 26 year-old Ruby Grisdale of #2-154 Albert Street East yesterday at 2:15 pm at Zellers on Bay Street and charged her with one count of theft under $5,000, and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 29th of November at approximately 2:14 pm the accused attended at the store and stole some medication and clothing. She was apprehended by store security and held for police. She is to attend in court on the 10th of January 2011.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 44 year-old Dwayne Guy of #8-196 James Street at 12:12 pm yesterday on Albert Street West and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that at approximately 11 am the accused attended at Zellers in the Station Mall and stole a set of pots and pans. The accused left the store on foot and officers searching the area found the accused a short time later on Albert Street East and made the arrest. He is to attend in court on the 10th of January.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 19 year-old Matthew Hart of #11-314 Albert Street East last night at 5:30 pm at the Station Mall and charged him with one count of theft under $5, 000. It is alleged that on the 29th of November at approximately 5:28 pm the accused attended at the LCBO Store in the mall and stole three bottles of liquor. He was apprehended by store security and held for police. He is to appear in court on the 10th of January.

Female Arrested on Outstanding Warrants
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 20 year-old Hannah Harvey on an outstanding warrant yesterday afternoon on Queen Street West and charged her with one count of fail to appear for prints. She is to attend in court on the 10th of January 2011.

Male Arrested for Assaulting Female Outside Local Bar
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 28 year-old Owen Martin of 600 Gran Street on the 29th of November at 6 pm at the police station and charged him with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 28th of November around 2 am the accused was leaving a local downtown bar, got into an argument with some patrons outside and assaulted a female not known to him by punching her in the face. The victim received non-life threatening injuries that did not require medical attention at the time. The accused is to appear in court on the 10th of January 2011.

Theft Reports
• A storage unit at a business on White Oak Drive had the locks cut and entry gained sometime over the past week. It is not known at this time if anything was taken.
• A cell phone was reported stolen out of a locker room at one of the local high schools.
• Licence plates were reported stolen from two vehicles.
• Three vehicles were reported entered. Two on Millcreek Drive and one on South Market Street. Change was reported taken.
