Two Counts of Breach & One Count Of Failing to Appear for Fingerprints

30-year old Joseph Douglas Baxter of 31 Westridge Road will appear in bail court this morning. It is alleged that on the 24th of April the accused failed to appear for fingerprints on a criminal matter. As a result a warrant was requested for the accused for one count of fail to appear for fingerprints and two counts of breach of probation.

Impaired Driver

Just after 2:30 am this morning a citizen called the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service to report a possible impaired driver. The vehicle was observed on Wallace Terrace and a description of the vehicle was provided to police. Officers attended in the area and located the vehicle on Goulais Avenue. When officers checked the driver it is alleged that he was under the influence of alcohol. 26-year old Jason Kirby Brown of 40 Raymond Street has been charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. He will appear in court on November 6th.

Assault, Mischief & Unlawfully in a Dwelling

A 35-year old female was arrested last evening and charged with one count of assault, one count of unlawfully in a dwelling house and one count of mischief under $5,000. It is alleged that the accused attended at her ex-husband’s residence in the morning of the 2nd of October and punched him. It is further alleged that the accused re-attended at the victim’s home in the afternoon and broke the padlock on the door and entered the home. The accused will appear in court on November 8th.

Car Accident Leads to Possession Charges

Yesterday afternoon just after 4 pm emergency crews from the Police Service, Fire Services and Ambulance Services attended in the 1700 block of Queen Street East for a single motor vehicle collision. It is alleged that a vehicle operated by a 47-year old female was traveling westbound on Queen Street East, left the roadway, struck a fire hydrant and came to a rest a distance away against a pile of sand in a yard. The PUC also attended. The driver was taken to the Sault Area Hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. During the course of the investigation officers located a small quantity of hash oil that allegedly belonged to the driver. As a result 47-year old Nancy Wissell of 16 Muriel Drive was charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. She will appear in court on November 6th.


Break & Enters

1) Sometime between 4 pm on the 29th of September and 7 am on the 2nd of October St. Ann’s School on White Oak Drive was broken into. An IMAC computer and keyboard were taken.

2) Sometime on the 28th of September during the daytime hours thieves attempted to break into a garage on Princeton Drive.

3) Yesterday evening a homeowner in the 600 block of Pine Street reported that their home had been entered. An X-box and 12 games along with DVD’s were taken.

4) Just before 2:30 am this morning a break and enter was reported at The Brick located on Second Line West. A sofa and love seat were taken in the incident. Suspects were seen leaving the area in a 90’s Chevrolet truck, regular cab.
