Police Attend Garage Fire Yesterday morning at approx. 10:00 AM the City Fire Department and City Police attended at a garage fire in the 500 block of Old Goulais Bay Rd.

Yesterday morning at approx. 10:00 AM the City Fire Department and City Police attended at a garage fire in the 500 block of Old Goulais Bay Rd. The fire, which it is believed was caused when a spark, from a grinder, struck some oily rags, consumed the entire garage.

38-Year Old Turns Himself In

Yesterday evening, at approx. 8:00 PM, 38-year-old Brendan Corrigan, of 2 Northland Trailer Park attended at the City Police station to turn himself in on outstanding warrants. The warrants, issued by the Michipicoten Township Police, dated back to 2002 and were for 4 counts of Sexual Assault and 3 counts of Sexual Interference. Mr. Corrigan will be attending in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.

25 Year Old Aressted On Outstanding Warrants

At approx. 4:35 PM yesterday afternoon City Police arrested 25-year-old Dana Johnston, of 94 Allard St. for several warrants dating back to January of this year. The warrants were for 4 counts of Assault, also one count each of: Mischief, Breach of Probation and Failing to Appear for Identification. Ms Johnston will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.

Arrest At The Algoma Treatment And Remand Centre

At approx. 12:35 PM yesterday City Police attended at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre and charged 43 year old Michael Casey with 3 counts of Breach of a Court Order. It is alleged that between February 11th and 18th the accused contacted several members of his family, while prohibited from doing so by the courts. At the time of these occurrences Mr. Casey was in custody at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre. Michael Casey will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.

Youth Arrested For Breaking School Window

At approx. 2:00 PM yesterday a 14-year-old youth was causing a disturbance at Pinewood Public School. When the school principal attended to address the disturbance it is alleged that the youth kicked the front window of the school and broke it. The youth will be charged with Cause a Disturbance and Mischief. The youth will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.

Snow Machine Theft

City Police are investigating the report of two snow machines being stolen from the 100 block of Cambridge Pl. It is believed that the theft took place in the early morning hours of Tuesday Feb 21st. Stolen were a blue 1999 Yamaha SRX 700 snow machine and a green 1996 Polaris Indy. Anyone with information on these or any crimes please contact Crimestoppers or the City Police.

Mischief Complaint

City Police are also investigating a complaint of mischief to a residence in the 700 block of Fourth Line E. In the occurrence unknown person(s) damaged the mailbox.

Shoplifter At No Frills

At approx. 2:10 PM yesterday afternoon City Police were called to attended at the No Frills Store at
519 Korah Rd regarding an adult shoplifter. Upon arrival officers arrested 46-year-old Beth Syrette, of 20 Pine Hill, Garden River. It is alleged that the accused attended at the store and attempted to steal approx.$ 133.00 worth of store merchandise. The accused will be appearing in court on Monday March 27th at 9:00 AM on a charge of Theft Under $ 5000.00.

Man Turns Himself In For Sexual Assault Charges

At 1:20 PM yesterday afternoon Brian McIntomney, age 44, attended at the City Police and turned himself in on a charge from February 10th of this year. Mr. McIntomney was arrested and charged with: Sexual Assault, Forcible Confinement and Sexual Interference.

It is alleged that on February 10th Mr. McIntomney sexually assaulted a young female and then forcibly confined her at his residence. The accused will be appearing in Court on Monday March 27th at 9:00 AM.
