Breach of Probation Arrest for Bail Court Appearance this Morning Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 27 year-old Luc Dale of no fixed address, wanted on an outstanding probation and parole warrant on the 11th of January at 9:24 am at the Algoma Remand and Treatment Centre. He has been charged with one count of breach of probation and is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Shoplifter Arrested
Officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested 21 year-old Giusseppe Sardo of 167 Tancred Street at 3:05 pm at Zellers in the Station Mall and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that yesterday afternoon he attended at the store and stole a NFL Nerf football. He was apprehended by store security and held for police. He is to attend in court on the 14th of February.

Motor Vehicle Collision
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service attended at a motor vehicle collision on the 11th of January at 9:05 am at the intersection of Bruce Street and Wellington Street East that sent both drivers to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. It is alleged that the driver of a Pontiac car travelling northbound on Bruce Street failed to stop for the red light and struck a Buick car that had been proceeding westbound on Wellington Street East.

Both vehicles were moderately damaged and had to be towed from the scene. As a result, the driver 23 year-old Pamela Fountaine of Richard’s Landing Ontario has been charged with one count of fail to stop for red light under the Highway Traffic Act.

Road Closure due to Suspicious Death Investigation
Landslide Road between Old Garden River Road and Fourth Line East remains closed as police are still on scene and the investigating is ongoing. The public will be advised when the road has been re-opened.
