Youth Arrested In Downtown Area

A 16-year-old youth will appear in court on February 7th after being arrested yesterday morning. Officers checked the youth in the downtown area and learned that there was an outstanding warrant for the youth for one count of fail to appear for fingerprints.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Last evening just after 7 pm City Police attended at the intersection of Dacey Road and Trunk Road for a motor vehicle collision with injuries. A car operated by 57-year old Stephen Frech of Richards Landing was traveling eastbound on Trunk Road. It is alleged that a car operated by 22-year old Jennifer Cottrelle of Sarnia, Ontario stopped at the stop sign on Dacey Road at Trunk Road and then pulled out onto Trunk Road into the path of the Frech vehicle. Ms. Cottrelle was taken to the hospital by family members for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Mr. Frech also received non-life threatening injuries but did not require medical treatment at the time of the incident. Both vehicles sustained severe damage. Ms. Cottrelle has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario with one count of fail to yield to traffic on through highway.
