Bail Court Three persons will appear in bail court this morning: 1) 41-year old David Park of 102-536 Goulais Avenue will appear in bail court after being arrested and charged yesterday afternoon with one count of breach of a release order.

Three persons will appear in bail court this morning:

1) 41-year old David Park of 102-536 Goulais Avenue will appear in bail court after being arrested and charged yesterday afternoon with one count of breach of a release order. It is alleged that the accused was under the influence of alcohol while on a release order prohibiting the consumption of alcohol or other intoxicating substances.

2) A 17-year old youth was arrested just before 4 am this morning and charged with two counts of breach of probation and one count of trespass by night. City Police received a call regarding a person being in backyards in the area of Cunningham Road. When officers attended in the area they located the youth. The youth was on probation at the time of the offence with conditions to be in their residence between 10 pm and 7 am and to also keep the peace and be good.

3) A 25-year old male was arrested yesterday afternoon by officers from Patrol Services and Investigation Services in regards to a number of domestic related charges. The male has been charged with two counts of mischief, 7 counts of breach of a release order, one count of assault and three counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 29th of May the accused breached his probation and release order by communicating with his ex-girlfriend. It is also alleged that on that date the accused let air out of two tires on the victim’s vehicle. It is further alleged that the accused communicated with the victim while on a release order not to speak to her. It is further alleged that on the 25th of July the accused assaulted the victim by slapping her in the face. In addition to the assault it is alleged that the accused damaged the victim’s cell phone by throwing it against her car causing the phone to break. At the time of this offence the accused was on a release order with conditions not to communicate with the victim. It is further alleged that the accused breached his release order by failing to notify his change of address and also for failing to reside with his surety.

Impaired Driving

33-year old Steven Folgora of 2-268 Huron Street was arrested just before 7:30 pm last evening and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. Last evening patrol officers on routine patrol observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Bennett Boulevard as well as swerving in the lane. It is alleged that the accused also failed to stop for a stop sign at Bennett Boulevard and Boundary Road. When officers stopped the vehicle it is alleged that the accused had an alcoholic beverage on the passengers seat. The accused displayed signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested. He will appear in court on August 28th.

Threatening & Assault With A Weapon

20-year old Tyler Tomas of 2-491 North Street was arrested last evening and charged with one count of threatening and one count of assault with a weapon. It is alleged that on the 25th of July the accused assaulted an adult male and female known to the accused by pointing a barbecue fork at them and also threatened to burn their residence down. The incident occurred in the downtown area. The accused will appear in court on August 28th.

Two Females Arrested By Fraud Unit

Two females were arrested yesterday by the Fraud Unit in relation to a fraud complaint from a male victim:

1) 27-year old Jessica LeBlanc of 5-125 Gore Street has been charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, two counts of uttering forged documents and two counts of fraud. It is alleged that on the 19th of July and the 20th of July the accused attended at a local bank and cashed two stolen forged cheques belonging to the victim. A total loss of funds was $1500. The accused will appear in court on August 28th.

2) 20-year old Natasha Senecal of 2-125 Gore Street has been charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of uttering a forged document and one count of attempt fraud. It is alleged that on the 24 of July the accused attended at a local bank and presented a cheque in an attempt to cash it. The bank did not act on the cheque and no money was given to the accused. The accused will appear in court on August 28th.

Break & Enters

In the last 24 hour period City Police received 3 reports of break and enters:

1) Just after 7 am Adler Moving Systems of White Oak Drive reported that the business had been broken into. 4 cell phones were taken in the break and enter.

2) Between the 22nd of July and the 25th of July a home in the 600 block of Queen Street East was broken into. It is unknown if anything was taken.

3) Sometime between 2 pm and 6 pm yesterday thieves broke into a home in the 200 block of Goulais Avenue and stole food, alcohol and a small amount of change.

Bear Sightings

Yesterday City Police received two reports of bear sightings:

1) Just before 12 noon a resident of Brule Road reported a bear in their backyard.

2) Around 8:30 pm last evening a bear was seen in area of Peoples Road between Kent Crescent and the cemetery.

The Ministry of Natural Resources was notified. The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to remind the public to report all bear sightings to the MNR at the bear hotline at 1-866-514-2327.
