BREAK AND ENTER
A 13-year-old youth will appear in court on August 10 after city police arrested him yesterday after responding to a break and enter call. City Police were called to an address in the 500 block of Queen Street W and took a report of a break and enter from a homeowner who had returned home at noon to discover his house had been entered.

Thieves made off with a VCR, a Winchester 30.30 rifle serial number 4260365, a small amount of jewellery and cash. Police received information at the scene that lead to the arrest of the 13-year-old. The youth was on a release document at the time with conditions to abide by the house rules and information had also been received that the youth had not been abiding by the rules.

The youth has been charged with one count of break and enter and one count of breach of the release document. The property has not been recovered yet, and investigators from the Investigation Services Section are further investigating this call.

TRIED TO STEAL BOOTS
A 15-year-old youth was arrested yesterday at the Zellers store in the Station Mall after store security apprehended him/her attempting to steal a pair of boots. The youth was observed by security staff removing his/her old boots, putting on a new pair and was in the process of leaving the store when he was apprehended. The youth has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and will appear in court on the 3rd of August.


SHE WAS TRYING TO RUN HIM OFF THE ROAD
Last night, shortly after 8 pm, City Police responded to a call in the City’s west end from a male advising that his ex-wife was following him in his vehicle at high rates of speed and trying to run him off the road. The incident ended when the female put her car in the ditch after she attempted to back into the male’s van.

During all of this the couple’s young child was in the female’s car. No injuries were received by anyone in the incident. The 35-year old female has been charged with one count of dangerous driving and one count of criminal harassment by repeatedly following. She will appear in court on August 9th.


B & E AT JOE’S SPORTS
City Police also received a report of a break and enter to Joe’s Sports and Surplus on Queen Street East. Between the 5th and 6th of July entry was gained into the business overnight and a small amount of cash was removed from the store. Damage was minimal to the store.
