Robbery update: Sean Michael Clark, 35, is in custody in Southern Ontario and will appear in bail court in Hamilton today. Mr. Clark was wanted by Sault Ste Marie Police Services for the robbery at the Northern Credit Union on Bay Street that occurred on June 14th.

Yesterday afternoon, officers from the Investigation Services Section of the City Police received information from Hamilton Police. Officers from that Service advised they had Mr. Clark in custody on our charge in addition to 2 robberies from the Hamilton area, 1 from the Oakville area, as well as the Canada Wide Warrants from the Police Departments in Western Canada. No further details are available at the time of this release.

Bellevue Park arrest

2 young persons will be appearing in bail court this morning after City Police arrested them early this morning for the break and enter to the canteen at Bellevue Park. The break and enter had been reported to City Police early yesterday morning when they responded to an alarm at the business.

A 16 year old youth has been charged with one count of break and enter and one count of breach of a release document after being found in the company of the co-accused, whom the youth was on conditions not to communicate with. The 17-year-old co-accused has also been charged with one count of break and enter, one count of breach of an undertaking, and one count of obstruct police. It is alleged that this person told police a different name when questioned by police, and this person was also on conditions not to communicate with the 16 year-old youth.

Breaches curfew, probation

22-year-old Henry Cadreau of 2-28 Hughes Street will be appearing in bail court today as well. Mr. Cadreau was observed walking along a downtown street shortly before 2 am this morning and was checked by officers. It was learned that Mr.Cadreau was on a release document with a curfew of 10 pm to 7 am daily. The accused was also on a probation order to keep the peace and be good. He was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of breach of an undertaking and one count of breach of probation.

Your assistance is required in helping to identify the driver a vehicle that struck a pedestrian. Yesterday at approximately 10:25 am 77-year-old Catherine Cleminson of Woodward Avenue was walking eastbound and crossed Kohler St, on the green light, when struck by a car. The car was turning from Queen St onto Kohler St when it struck the victim, who received minimal injuries. There is no driver description, but the car is a beige 4-door vehicle. If you witnessed this accident, or you are the driver of the beige car, you are asked to call the Sault Ste Marie Traffic Service Section at 949-6300 ext 348.

Nixon Road accident

Last night shortly before 11 pm, City Police took a motor vehicle accident report on Nixon Road in the 400- block area. A car driven by a 16-year-old person was traveling southbound on Nixon Road when it struck a parked car, causing a chain reaction of 3-parked cars to strike each other. A fair amount of damage was done to the vehicles involved. The driver of the car was treated for minor injuries. A passenger in the driver’s car did not receive any injuries. The young person has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with careless driving.
