Three persons to appear in bail court: 1) Yesterday evening city police attended at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre and charged Raymond Gregoire, age 25, of 217 Beverly St with one count of break and enter and one count of theft under $ 5,000.
Three persons to appear in bail court:

1) Yesterday evening city police attended at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre and charged Raymond Gregoire, age 25, of 217 Beverly St with one count of break and enter and one count of theft under $ 5,000.00. It is alleged that on March 4th the accused committed the offence of break and enter by entering the Canadian Research Centre located at 1219 Queen St. E. Once inside the accused is alleged to have stolen a purse containing personal identification and cash. It is further alleged that on March 6th the accused entered the Innovation Centre, located at 65 Willow Ave and while there he stole a purse contain identification and cash.

2) Yesterday morning city police attended at a west end residence and arrested a 32-year-old female. It is alleged that on Friday March 6th the accused made in excess of 15 harassing and annoy phone calls to her ex-common-law partner. At the time of these offences the accused was on probation. The accused is charged with one count of making indecent phone calls and two counts of breach of probation.

3) Yesterday evening, at approx. 11:00 pm city police were called to a west end residence regarding a domestic assault. Officers were informed that the suspect, a 49-year-old male had assaulted the complaint and her son. It is alleged that the accused and his common-law wife were involved in an argument when he became upset and shoved her. At this time one of the victim’s sons tried to intervene and was struck and cut, by a coffee cup that the accused swung at him. When police arrived the accused locked himself in the bathroom and then resisted arrest. The accused is charged with one count of assault, one count of assault with a weapon and one count of resist arrest. The youth suffered a laceration to the forehead above his eye that required several stitches. The victim was transported to hospital where he was treated and released.

Male arrested for break and enter:

Yesterday evening city police were called to an address on Grace St. regarding a break and enter. Upon arrival officers located the accused and arrested him. It is alleged that the accused, a 17-year-old male broke into a residence in the 100 block of Grace St in an attempt to steal some money. He was confronted by the tenant and in an attempt to escape the accused is alleged to have assaulted the resident. The youth is charged with one count of break and enter and one count of assault. The victim and accused are known to each other.

Female arrested for assault:

Yesterday afternoon city police were called to a local high school regarding an assault. Upon arrival officers spoke to the complainant who advised that she was assaulted by a female known to her. As a result officer arrested a 16-year-old female and charged her with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused confronted the victim and asked her to fight. When the victim refused the accused assaulted her by punching her in the head and in the back. The victim did not require medical attention as a result of the assault. The accused will be appearing in court on April 14th at 9:30 am.

Male arrested for failing to appear for fingerprints:

Yesterday afternoon city police arrested a male wanted on a warrant. It is alleged that the accused, Mason Falls, age 18 of 25 Princeton Dr., failed to attend the city police station on February 10th, 2009 for fingerprints. He is charged with one count of failing to attend for identification purposes. He will be appearing in court on April20th at 9:00 am.

Property crimes:

City police received a report of a stolen wallet. A shopper reports that her wallet was taken from her purse which was left in a shopping cart. Cash and personal identification was taken. Once again citizens are reminded not to leave purses unattended while shopping.
