Assault, Threatening & Drug Charges On the 21st of March just before 1am two males attended at an address on Peoples Road and allegedly assaulted a male known to them by hitting him with a stick as well as punching him.

On the 21st of March just before 1am two males attended at an address on Peoples Road and allegedly assaulted a male known to them by hitting him with a stick as well as punching him. It is further alleged that the males threatened to harm the victim. The two males fled the area and were arrested a short time later in the Elliot Road baseball field. When officers searched the accused males they found 15.2 grams of cocaine as well as a buck knife. The 26 year old male accused also had a large quantity of cash on him. The estimated street value of the cocaine is $1500. The two males are:

1) Chris Heald age 24 of 202-125 Cambridge Place has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon, one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance, one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm and one count of breach of probation.

2) Richard Atherton age 26 of 33 St. Andrew Terrace has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon, one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance and one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm.

Harrassing Phone Calls to Easy Cab

42 year old Chris Hohmeyer of 50 Manilla Terrace was arrested and charged last evening with one count of harassing phone calls and one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm. It is alleged that the accused called the dispatcher at Easy Cab numerous times in a two hour period. The accused was warned by police and continued to call. It is also alleged that the accused threatened to kill the dispatcher.

Arrested on Outstanding Warrants

42 year old Darrin Phillips of 205–40 Hynes Street was arrested yesterday morning on an outstanding warrant for one count of break and enter and commit an offence, one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm and one count of assault with a weapon. It is alleged that the accused attended at an address on East Street on the 17th of March, broke into the residence, assaulted and threatened the male victim.

Assault & Breach

A 22 year old male was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his girlfriend on the 19th of March in an east end address. It is alleged that the accused pushed the victim and broke her glasses. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation.

Assault with a Knife
18 year old Jessica Desmond of 70 James Street attended at a downtown address yesterday afternoon and allegedly assaulted a female known to her by threatening her while holding a knife. The victim was not harmed. At the time of the offence the accused was on conditions to notify her change of address and allegedly failed to do so. She was arrested and charged with one count of assault with a weapon, one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm and one count of breaching a release document.

Youth Charged with Threatening Death or Bodily Harm

A 16-year old male youth will appear in court on April 24th after being arrested and charged last night with one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm and one count of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. It is alleged that on the 20th of March the accused threatened a family member over the phone. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation.

Break & Enter

There was one break and enter in the last 24-hour period. A home on Boundary Road was entered yesterday afternoon between 1 pm and 4 pm. Items taken include jewellery, a DVD player and a digital camera.
