The only arrest entry for this morning is 35 year-old Ashley Clement of 377 John Street who was arrested on the 23rd of March at 4:30 pm and charged with one count of fraud.
The only arrest entry for this morning is 35 year-old Ashley Clement of 377 John Street who was arrested on the 23rd of March at 4:30 pm and charged with one count of fraud. It is alleged that on or between the 8th of September 2009 and the 4th of November 2009, the accused defrauded Scouts Canada in the amount of $160.00 by canvassing door to door soliciting funds and then not turning the funds over to Scouts Canada. She is to appear in court on the 26th of April.

Break and Enter Reports

• A residence in the 100 block of Tilley Road was entered last evening. A flat screen television was reported stolen.
• A male wearing dark clothing and a back pack entered an unlocked garage on Willow Avenue around 1:26 am this morning and stole a bike.

Mischief/Thefts Reports

Vehicles were reported damaged and some entered in the areas of the 200 block of Great Northern Road, the 200 block of Queen Street East, the 300 block of Old Garden River Road, Crestview Court, Alexandra Street and Estelle Street. The vehicle on Estelle Street was a truck that had the back seat lit on fire. Fire Services were also on scene.

The missing person is:

Joey Turco

Age: 23 years

Height: 5 foot 7 inches

Weight: 175 pounds

Eyes: Blue

Hair: Light brown, scruffy goatee/ beard

Last seen wearing: Black coat, blue jeans, work boots

It is believed that Mr. Turco's last known whereabouts was in the area of Hiawatha Park at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 22, 2010.

Anyone with knowledge that could be of assistance in locating Mt. Turco is asked to call the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service immediately at 705-949-6300, extension 210.

Police suspend search for missing person

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and the Sault Search and Rescue have suspended search efforts for missing person Mr. Joey (Joseph) Turco.

At 9:30 p.m. the decision was made to call off the search temporarily due to darkness and the extreme terrain.

Search efforts will resume at daybreak Wednesday morning March 24.

It is anticipated that search teams will be assisted by additional officers and members of the Ontario Provincial Police and the OPP helicopter.

Any persons having knowledge on the whereabouts of Mr. Joseph Turco are asked to contact the City Police Service at (705)-949-6300 Ext 210.

Update

The search for missing person Joey Turco resumed at 6:45 am this morning. Several members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, including the Search Master and the Emergency Services Unit, the O.P.P. and the Sault Search and Rescue are involved in the search. The OPP helicopter is also being utilized. Police are requesting the public’s assistance with this missing person. If anyone has any information regarding this missing person, please contact city police at 949-6300.
