Assault Charge 19-year old Brandon Horner of 123 Chicora Crescent was arrested yesterday afternoon after he turned himself in regarding an assault complaint.
Assault Charge

19-year old Brandon Horner of 123 Chicora Crescent was arrested yesterday afternoon after he turned himself in regarding an assault complaint. It is alleged that on the 6th of May just before 2 am City Police attended in the 100 block of Queen Street East for an assault. A male victim and the accused had been inside a drinking establishment in that area and when the victim went outside. It is alleged that Mr. Horner and several other males came outside and chased the victim. The victim and the accused are not known to each other. It is alleged that the victim was kicked numerous times in the face area and required medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be good. Mr. Horner has been charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm and one count of breach of probation. He will appear in court on June 12th. Break and Enters

Sometime between 1 am and 7 am yesterday morning person(s) broke into Smack Daddy’s Bar located at 652 Wallace Terrace and stole an undisclosed amount of money.

A home in the 800 block of Fourth Line East was entered yesterday between 10 am and 1 pm. Thieves made off with a laptop and some jewellery.

Mischief

City Police received a number of reports yesterday of mischief:

1) St. John’s School located at 100 Churchill Avenue had several of its windows shot at with what is believed to be a pellet gun. It was reported yesterday morning.
2) Staff at the Children’s Rehabilitation Center located a 74 Johnson Avenue noted a number of pellet holes in their window and the side of the building yesterday morning.
3) Yesterday morning a homeowner in the 500 block Shafer Avenue reported that a back window of their residence was shot with a pellet from a pellet gun.
4) Around 3:30 this morning a homeowner in the 500 block of Goulais Avenue reported mischief to their front window by a pellet from a pellet gun.
5) Yesterday morning the owner of a van in the 600 block of Queen Street West reported that the back window of their van had been broken out by pellet from a pellet gun.
6) Another call was also received yesterday morning from a van owner in the 400 block of John Street who reported that the van’s rear window had been shot out by pellet from a pellet gun.
7) A vehicle owner in the 100 block of Johnson Avenue reported yesterday morning that the back window of the vehicle was broken out.
8) Last evening just after 11 pm a vehicle owner in the 100 block of Pittsburgh Avenue reported that their van had a window shot at by a pellet from a pellet gun.
9) Last evening just after 11 pm another vehicle owner from the 100 block of Creery Avenue reported that the back window of their van had been shot out by a pellet gun.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is investigating this rash or vandalism. Fortunately in these acts, no one was hit by one of the pellets. The total cost of repair for this large number of crimes will be significant. The same individual(s) may have caused several of these incidents.
