Yesterday afternoon at around 4:45 an alert patrol officer spotted 21-year-old Blake Hudson of no fixed address on Bay Street in the area of the Greyhound Bus Station.

The officer was aware that Mr. Hudson was wanted on a number of outstanding warrants. When the officer approached the accused, Hudson fled from the officer. The pursuing officer and another officer almost immediately caught Hudson.

When the officers took him into custody he resisted arrest by struggling with the officers until they were able to handcuff him. Mr. Hudson will appear in bail court this morning.

Hudson has been charged with one count of resisting arrest, one count of breach of a release document, and two counts of breach of probation.


FORGED PRESCRIPTION
56-year-old Elizabeth Peltonen of 883 Trunk Road was arrested yesterday as she attempted to use a forged prescription for the drug Oxycontin.

It is alleged that the accused changed the quantity of pills on the prescription form and then attempted to obtain the increased amount of Oxycontin. Staff at Shopper’s Drug Mart on Great Northern Road called the police after confirming with the physician the correct number of drugs prescribed.

The accused has been charged with one count of uttering a forged document and will appear in court on the 15th of November.


ARRESTED AT SEARS
46-year-old Russell Barton of 180 Glasgow Avenue was arrested yesterday afternoon for theft after he allegedly left the Sears Store with a tester bottle of Polo cologne concealed in his jacket.

Mr. Barton was arrested by security and turned over to the police. Mr. Barton has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and will appear in court on November 15th.


POLICE LOOK FOR ACCIDENT WITNESSES
City Police Traffic Services are requesting assistance from the public regarding an accident that occurred on Saturday October 9th at 11:25 am. The accident occurred at Albert Street East and Elgin Street and involved a grey Dodge pickup and a brown Toyota Van.

Both drivers have indicated to the police that they each had the green light, and police are seeking any independent witnesses to help determine who is at fault in this accident. If you have any information please contact Traffic Services at 949-6300 ext 348.


BREAK & ENTER
City Police received a report of a break and enter to the Country Way store on Brock Street yesterday. Thieves made off with a large amount of protein powder and dog food. If you know who is responsible for this break and enter call City Police or Crime Stoppers.
