Males Charged with Breach of Probation Last evening around 8 pm City Police attended in the 500 block of Boundary Road. A caller reported 2 males had entered a backyard in that area and left with a bbq propane tank.

Last evening around 8 pm City Police attended in the 500 block of Boundary Road. A caller reported 2 males had entered a backyard in that area and left with a bbq propane tank. Police attended in the area and located the propane tank and the 2 males in the bush area near the residence. 24-year old Alfred Peters of 166 South Market and 25-year old Allen Waboose of the same address have each been charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of theft under $5,000. Mr. Waboose was also on probation at the time of the offence and has been charged with one count of breach of probation. Both males will appear in court on October 17th.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Just before 9 pm last night City Police attended at the intersection of Bruce Street and Wellington Street East for a motor vehicle collision between a bike and a van. A van operated by 49-year old Louise Thomsen of 203 Pine Street was traveling northbound on Bruce Street and approached the intersection on the green light. It is alleged that a bicycle operated by 48-year old Kathleen Nowitski of 123 Andrew Street was traveling westbound on Wellington Street East and proceeded into the intersection on the red light, striking the van. Ms. Nowitski was taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. She has also been charged under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario with one count of red light-fail to stop. Damage to both the van and the bike is described as light.

Break and Enters

Yesterday afternoon Expert Tech located at 178 Drive In Road reported a theft of telephone cable. The cable had been stolen off of reel and the estimated value of the stolen cable is approximately $27,000. The theft occurred within the last month.

City Police received 4 break and enter reports yesterday:
1) Wells Fargo Financial located at 499 Queen Street East reported a break and enter yesterday morning.
Sometime overnight thieves entered the business and made off with a small-undisclosed amount of money.

2) A home in the 100 block of Tancred Street was entered sometime between September 7th and the 12th. It is unknown what was taken at this time.

3) Just before 1 am this morning thieves entered the Trading Post on Great Northern Road. It is unknown at this time if anything was taken.

4) Just after 5 am this morning City Police attended at Beaver Fuels located at Lake Street and Trunk Road. Thieves broke into the store and stole cigarettes and candy bars.
